The Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, established in 1897, is one of the oldest organisations of Industry and Trade in India and has always been in the forefront to improve the economic activities of the Port City of Cochin in particular and the State of Kerala in general. The Chamber is affiliated to the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), New Delhi., which is the apex body of Indian businessmen's organisations. At present there are about 400 Members on the rolls of the Chamber, besides eleven major Trade Associations of Kochi, whose membership is about 1000 representing different trade interests are also affiliated to the Chamber. The Chamber is represented on various Government/quasi-Government Bodies.
